Aluminum crucible is the main supporting tool in thermal analyzer. It is suitable for the carrier of non-volatile solid or liquid samples, such as polymers, pharmaceuticals and drugs. It is usually used for the study of polymer melting, crystallization and glass transition of polymers, thermoplastic materials and thermosetting materials. Aluminum is a silver-white metal, which is protected from reacting with air and water because of its surface oxide layer. It is soluble in dilute sulfuric acid, nitric acid, hydrochloric acid, sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide solutions, but insoluble in water. The relative density is 2.70. Melting point 660 C. Boiling point 2327 C. It is widely used for its light, good conductivity and thermal conductivity, high reflectivity and oxidation resistance.
